Incest song parodies 01 is the first of what I hope will be a series. So for this karaoke endevor, I took a unique twist on my taboo lifestyle by crafting parodies of two iconic songs. The first one was “How Soon Is Now?” by The Smiths. I turned this melancholic anthem into a declaration consensual adult incest. The repetition of the song lyrics made the adjustment of the theme very easy to accomplish. The original song’s brooding tone lent itself perfectly to my theme of longing and secrecy.

The second parody was set to Bryan Adams’ classic “Summer of ’69.” Called “Brother & Me”; this parody took a little more work because of the story telling nature of the song. I transformed this nostalgic rock anthem into a celebration of the hidden but exhilarating moments of an incestuous initiation. In this version, sung from the female perspective, the participants are a brother and sister. As the sister, I draw attention to the protective nature of a loving older brother and how alluring this is. It was a tribute to the excitement of forbidden love. The 69 is clearly a sex act (as it was originally intended to be), instead of a temporal setting as the original song has often been interpreted.
